Gandhi Jayanti Celebration

To commemorate 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Father of the Nation , various programmes were organized in Gwalior Glory High School. The assembly commenced with the Bhajans by staff members which were close to Gandhiji’s heart. Students were also made to sing the Bhajans along with the teachers that made the ambience soulful echoing with the ethos of the freedom fighter. The Principal addressed the students and appealed everyone to follow the path shown by Gandhi ji , instill his thoughts and preaching in our life. Many incidents from Gandhiji’s life were quoted to inspire the students as well as teachers to lead a dedicated focused and contended life.

National Sports Day Celebration

If you can believe it, you can do it. To mark the birth anniversary of legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand, 'National Sports Day' was celebrated at Gwalior Glory High School. Sports give us a sense of identity and national pride. The day started with a special assembly wherein students were made aware of the significance of this day.
Further, highlighting the importance of this day, various sports activities such as Football, Chess, Volleyball, Skating, Table Tennis, Badminton, Boxing including fitness training and athletic events were also organised to develop the team spirit, leadership and sportsmanship qualities among the students.

Independence Day Celebration

The celebration of the 73rd Independence Day began with the hoisting of the tricolour in the fore ground by the Honourable Director of the school Ms Anita Wadhwani and the Principal Dr Rajeshwari Sawant. Patriotic feelings emanated from the speech of the Head Girl echoed in the campus. This was followed by a musical rendition of patriotic song by the school choir. In a wonderful speech presented by a student of class XI Glorians were reminded of the valour and sacrifices made by the torchbearers of the freedom struggle.

Janmashtami, the birthday of Lord Krishna is celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm in India .In Gwalior Glory High School, students of classes I and II the birthday of Lord Krishna with great fervour and excitement. Little girls were dressed up as Radha and boys as Krishna.

Impact of Social Media on Adolescent-Let's Talk Teens

Under the aegis of Adolescent Health Academy an important session for Grade VIII students was conducted today by Dr Prakash Veer Arya and Dr Mukul Tiwari. Dr. Tiwari spoke on the benefits of Social Media and subsequently threw light on its negative impacts when used excessively. He added that intensive usage of Social Media by Adolescents results in poor performance in academics.

Adolescent Counseling Session

The process of growing up brings with it many challenges for adolescents and children. We, at Gwalior Glory High School have been empowering our students through various initiatives to help them overcome these tribulations.
In pursuit of this goal, yet another counseling session based on Adolescence was conducted for class X students by the eminent resource persons, Dr Prakash Veer Arya and Dr Mukul Tiwari. The session encompassed discussions on prevailing issues like Bullying and Cyber Bullying. Dr. Mukul Tiwari informed the students about Bullying and it's types and guided the students to bring it to the notice of some responsible adult.

An eye opening Seminar on Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012 (POCSO) was conducted in the school , where the keynote speaker was Dr. K.K. Dixit, Magistrate and President of Child Welfare Committee of Gwalior. Session on Aspects of SAT Exam

"May be there is a road ahead of it, May be there is a new world down the road, Walking forth is the only plight, Because we didn't come this far to come this far only. " Our students should all be nurtured to become autonomous, engaged and successful learners striving to maximise their potential.
Keeping this in mind a counselling session was organised at Gwalior Glory High School. Aiming to facilitate the potential for individual to reach academic excellence, in this session the expert speaker Ms. Manisha Motiramani familiarised the students with different aspects of SAT exams. Eg. How can they pursue their dreams of studying abroad and its benefits like availability of wide range of subjects, flexibility in choosing the subjects etc. Query resolving session was very satisfactorily answered by Ms Manisha creating awareness among the young minds.






Orientation Program on Dental Care and Oral Hygiene

A smile is the best make up which anyone can wear to look beautiful but it is not possible without a lovely and healthy denture. Dr Rashmi Sukhwani , a renowned dentist ,conducted an orientation Program for class III students in which she advised students to take proper care of their teeth. She emphasized on the importance of teeth in our life and how to take care of them to keep them strong and cavity free life long.
She focused on the correct way of brushing teeth and to choose a right kind of toothpaste. She also gave important tips to maintain oral hygiene at home. Patiently she resolved all the queries of curious kids and concluded the workshop.







Career Counselling Session in Hospitality Domain

With more and more diverse career options and professional opportunities emerging, career counselling helps individuals make the right choice about their career paths, career development and career change.
Keeping this in mind, a Career Counselling Session was organised for our senior Glorians to make them aware about the exciting career opportunities available in the Hospitality domain. The session took place under the guidance of the known expertise of Mr. P Suresh, Senior Lecturer in Institute of Hotel Management.
Speaking on the session, the resource person addressed that being the cardinal principle of friendliness industry, Hotel Management has wide job openings. Also, with globalization spreading among more nations, the Hotel Management industry is genuinely getting to spread worldwide.
The students got a wide spectrum of knowledge in relation to Hotel management which includes Hotel & Restaurant management, Cruise Ship Hotel management, Hospital Administration and Catering, Hotel and Tourism Associations, Airline Catering and Cabin Services, Club management, Forest Lodges, Guest Houses amongst others. Following the session of guidance, the doubts of the students were answered thoroughly.
The session was intensively enjoyed by the Glorians.The session concluded with the memento presentation to the Guest speaker by the Principal.






Physics Workshop on Theory of Relativity

What could be more creative than Science? And what better way to explore Science than by working with students’ own innate creativity? Keeping this pragmatic aspect of Science in mind, a Physics workshop was organised for Glorians from Science Stream.
It was an innovative and informative session by the resource person, Dr. Niraj Jain , Professor at Jiwaji University,Gwalior . He highlighted on the various aspects of 'Theory of Relativity' and unfolded the mysteries of 'Coordinate systems'. He further added that Physics plays a vital role in our day to day life. It was an interactive session where students not only responded to Prof. Jain's questions but also posed their own queries. In the end, the resource person was presented with a memento as a token of gratitude by the Principal. It truly was an enlightening workshop for the Glorians.






Adolescent Counseling Session

A counseling session on adolescence was conducted in Gwalior Glory High School for students of class VI. Dr. Prakash Vir Arya was the guest speaker who was welcomed by the Principal. Dr. Arya interacted with students regarding physical and psychological changes during adolescence. He briefed students about importance of physical exercise, balanced diet and staying away from any kind of distraction at this age. At last, he solved students’ queries. Overall it proved to be a very fruitful and enjoyable session for students and concluded with the vote of thanks extended by the Principal.






Orientation Programme by Principal

Life is a journey, with problems to solve, lessons to learn, but most of all, experiences to enjoy. Mentor, preacher, torch bearer of students is always willing to show the right path to the students. Senior Glorians look forward to such orientation programs where their Principal has one-to-one interaction with them.
Importance of discipline, scheduling and prioritising things, having true education, leading a healthy life, role of hygiene in life and being empathetic towards people around us are some relevant issues discussed with them. Students are now waiting for 2.0 orientation programme.....should be taken by Principal madam with whom they can easily connect, understand things better and follow her advice......

Activities conducted under the Swachhata Pakhwada

Gwalior Glory High School enthusiastically organised various competitions, and other activities for the realisation of the programme . During Swachhata Pakhwada celebrations , all the students of the school were engaged in different Participatory activities along with Special lectures were arranged to sensitize them in the morning assembly and in their classes about the importance of cleanliness of the surroundings.

SPIC MACAY - Kathak Dance Recital by Dr Uma Sharma

Dance is the poetic baring of the soul through motion. Under the ageis of SPIC MACAY, Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan awardee, Dr. Uma Sharma and her team performed ‘Kathak’. The artists were accorded a traditional welcome and the programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by school Principal Dr. Rajeshwari Sawant and the artists. A Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan awardee, the maestro has performed alongside many legendary musicians world over.

Display of Weapons by Indian Army

Indian Army organized a display in which weapons and equipment used by various wings of Army like Infantry and Artillery were exhibited. It was highly appreciated and left students awestruck. The event was open for the students of classes IX to XII. A soldier camouflaged in leafy suit went on to explain the mechanics of the infantry weapons. Students were briefed with details of the Weapons used during wars and they were ecstatic to experience a world they had never seen before. Students were excited and got a first hand experience of Weapons and this exhibition has changed their perception of the Army. Many students wished to join Indian Army. This event instilled a respect for the Indian Army in the children.






Students’ Council Investiture Ceremony

The responsibilities on the deserving young talent of the school to lead their school with care, capacity and capability was bestowed in Investiture Ceremony that was held with great enthusiasm and dignity. The event was presided over by the Chief guest, Gwalior Station Commander Mr Biswas’s wife Dr Varuna Biswas ( Army Medical Corps), Director of the school Ms Anita Wadhwani and the Principal of the school Dr Rajeshwari Sawant.
The event began with the presentation of school song which filled the air with a spirit of unity. The ceremonial pinning of the badges and handing over of the sashes to the newly elected Head Boy Mayank Arora, Head Girl Yashika Jain, Sports Captain Manpreet Singh and the house appointees was done by the Chief Guest, Director and the Principal of the school. It was a proud moment for all the parents to witness their children being inducted with great responsibilities while embarking upon the new journey as leaders. The newly elected students’ council pledged to keep the school motto of care, capacity and capability in high esteem and to fulfill their duty with utmost dedication. The Chief Guest addressed the students and advised the council to take their responsibility seriously. The Principal encouraged the students to be at their best and take the school to newer heights.






'My Earth My Duty’

"For in the true nature of things if we rightly consider every green tree as far more glorious than it were made of gold and silver." Realising this at Glory, a plantation drive under the program - 'My Earth My Duty'' was held to maintain this delicate environmental balance by our motivated NCC girl cadets to plant & maintain them as a gratitude to mother nature .. Cadets took pledge to fulfil their duty to make this world a greener place to live...

Vigour and enthusiasm reflects on the happy faces of the sweet children as their day begins with Zumba in the assembly followed by exciting events and activities besides studies throughout the day.
