The need of the time is to prepare well-rounded, well-trained learners and leaders. This means paving way for pupils to have a strong perspective, have strong decision making skill and inventiveness. These objectives can be achieved by making the teaching – learning process interesting, by increasing participation and generating interest for further inquiry into the subject. When a topic is introduced through a creative medium, engaging students to involve in the process of learning through art and craft / theatre/ dance/ music, then it not only improves a student's memory and concentration skills, but also develops decision-making and critical thinking skills, enhances communication and listening skills and encourages focus and discipline.
Art integrated methodology is an exciting way to deliver the subject matter , captivating the curiosity of the students not only in the realms of subject but also giving them an opportunity to get associated with various art forms. Well defined lessons planned with art integration have proved to be excellent way of channelizing and augmenting the creative problem solving skills along with helping a student to improve self-esteem and social skills.
To impart Art Integrated Education , subject teachers discuss with the dance, music , theatre and art and craft faculty members about the topics to be taken up for teaching, integrating a suitable art form. The difficult concepts, visually become easy to understand. Development of motor and language skills is a very important output received on adapting the integrated approach. Presentation skills improve, learners feel more connected to their native culture.
Assessment is equally important that is done through creative mediums. Creativity no longer takes a back seat, rather it has become the base of delivering the content through Art Integrated Learning. Rote method of cramming is discouraged. Undoubtedly it is one more step towards making the learning environment conducive for the students and adds on to the Happiness Quotient in the classrooms.
Glimpses of Teaching and Learning through Art Integration

Awareness is being spread about the importance of presence and availability of clean water. Through campaigns the message is being spread that water conservation does not include spending huge sums of money rather the impactful and easy sustainable solutions should be thought of. The mindset of people needs to be changed. This is done by counselling sessions organised regularly in our school.
From class I to XII the topic of water conservation has been included not only the academic syllabus but also has been taken up as theme in the co-curricular activities like- water conservation rallies and campaigns , poster making competition, quotation writing competition, debate competition, display board competition etc. Students are being motivated to preserve one liter of water everyday and promote the same in their house and locality as well. As observed, hundreds of birds die due to the scorching heat in search of water and grain .
