10th Quality Youth Initiative Summit: A Triumph for the School
In an excellent display of talent and dedication, Gwalior Glory High School has brought immense honour to India by triumphantly winning the prestigious OVERALL CHAMPIONS TROPHY and the Most Disciplined Team Award at the 10th International Quality Youth Initiative Summit in Mauritius.
From July 22-27, 2024, the team of seven students (Arya Patel-VIII,Rishima Ambey-X, Unnati Agrawal-X,Teesya Raut-XI, Nachiket Chaudhary-XI, Arnav Rastogi-XI, Pravesh Gangwani-XII) and the Principal, Dr. Rajeshwari Sawant represented the school at the 10th Quality Youth Initiative Summit in Mauritius, organized by the Mauritian Society for Quality Control Circles and the World Council for Total Quality Excellence in Education.
The team was warmly greeted and accommodated in a picturesque villa by the sea in Flic en Flac.
The competitions began on July 23 at OCEP College, featuring debates, case studies, poster and slogan making, public speaking, and mathematics. The team presented a well-researched case study and an artistic poster on the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
On July 24, the final events were hosted by the World Hindi Secretariat and inaugurated by notable dignitaries including Ms. Kalpana Devi Koonjoo-Shah from the Ministry of Gender Equality, Child Development and Family Welfare, Mr. Ranjan Kumar, the First Secretary (Eco) of the Indian High Commission and Mr. Youdhisteer Munbodh, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Tertiary Education, Science and Technology.
Highlights included a Hindi Kavita performance and a presentation by Dr. Rajeshwari Sawant on Quality Health Education and Community Welfare.
The evening of July 25 featured a cultural performance at the Indira Gandhi Centre, followed by prize distribution where the school received top honours. The President of Mauritius, HE Shri Prithvirajsing Roopun presided over the awards ceremony briefly. The Principal gifted a souvenir – a brass conch and tortoise brass base from India for the school as a token of gratitude.

The teams enjoyed a river cruise, parasailing, boat rides, a seaside dinner, and a waterfall visit on July 26, followed by a farewell visit to the Flacq market on July 27. The summit was a blend of academic rigour and cultural enrichment, creating lasting memories for all participants.
