A proud and enriching moment for Gwalior Glory High School as our students participated in the 10th SPIC MACAY International Convention held at IIT Hyderabad — a grand celebration of India’s classical music, dance, and heritage.
Glorians Prisha Atri (Class IX), Ishita Duseja (Class IX), Manya Gugoria (Class VIII), Arya Tripathi (Class X) and Akshaya Datey (Class XII), accompanied by Ms. Manjari Vijaywargiya, were part of this immersive cultural experience.
The days began with calming Yoga sessions amidst the peaceful ambience, followed by intensive workshops led by eminent personalities in Indian classical arts. Students attended a Kalamkari workshop under the guidance of Shri Jonnalagadda Niranjan, a 4th-generation artisan.
The convention featured mesmerizing performances by legendary artists —
🎶 Flute recital by Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia
💃 Kathakali by Kalamandalam Balasubramanian
🎭 Kuchipudi by Shri Raja and Smt. Radha Reddy
🪕 Kabir dohas recited by Prahlad Singh Tipaniya
🎤 Talks by the iconic Shabana Azmi and Javed Akhtar, and many more.
The participants also went on a Heritage Walk, visiting iconic sites like the Salar Jung Museum, Golkonda Fort, and Charminar.
The event was a transformational journey — blending art, culture, spirituality, and heritage.
