Talk on Myopia

Myopia Free MP Initiative: A Step Towards Better Vision for All Gwalior Glory High School recently hosted an impactful session on the “Myopia Free MP” initiative, in collaboration with RJN Apollo, aimed at raising awareness about eye health and Myopia prevention. The event began with a warm welcome from the principal, who emphasized the importance of eye health in the community. Myopia, or near sightedness, is a refractive error that makes distant objects appear blurry while close objects can be seen clearly. Shri Nalin Baghel, a senior optometrist, along with his dedicated team from RJN Apollo, led the informative session. He highlighted the essential role of early intervention in children, stressing the significance of early detection and proactive practices, such as limiting screen time and ensuring regular eye check-ups. The school expressed its gratitude to the guests by presenting saplings and momentos, symbolizing growth and appreciation. The Vice Principal extended the vote of thanks, expressing appreciation to the guests for their valuable insights. The session concluded with a powerful takeaway: “Healthy Eyes, Healthy Future,” reminding everyone of the vital role of vision care in ensuring long-term wellness.

Gwalior Glory High School recently held an exciting inter-section drama competition for Class 5, where each section performed scenes from the Ramayana. Dressed in traditional costumes and using creative props, students brought the characters to life with enthusiasm. The Power of Your Smile: A Workshop by Esteemed Alumnus at GGHS   Gwalior Glory High School recently held an engaging workshop titled “The Power of Your Smile: The Importance of Good Oral Hygiene” as a part of the “Let’s Connect Alumni Perspective” series on October 15, 2024. The session was led by distinguished alumnus Dr. Shivam Gupta, a renowned prosthodontist and implantologist, who captivated the audience with his knowledge on the crucial link between oral health and overall well-being. In keeping with tradition, the session commenced with a heartfelt welcome, where a sapling was presented to Dr. Gupta, symbolizing the school’s commitment to growth and nurturing. Throughout the session, Dr. Gupta shared valuable tips on maintaining healthy smiles, underscoring how proper oral care enhances not just dental health but also self-confidence and overall quality of life. This inspiring workshop encouraged students to prioritize their dental hygiene, reminding them that a radiant smile is key to personal wellness and success. The event also reinforced the deep bond between GGHS and its accomplished alumni.

Institute of Hotel Management Gwalior (IHM) hosted the Democratic Diplomacy of the Forum Model United Nations (DDMUN) on October 5th-6th, 2024. MUN (Model United Nations) simulates the UN and Indian committees along with the International Press covering journalism and photography. The ‘Glory’ team was shined upon by our mentor teacher Mr. Soumitra Walambe as well as our MUN co-ordinator Ms. Kiran Kaur, resulting in the array of such enthusiasm in our students in 5 different committees and the International Press. Science Exhibition

Science Exhibition: A Celebration of Learning and Innovation   Part 1: Classes 4 & 5 The Term 1 Parent-Teacher Meeting at Gwalior Glory High School offered a valuable platform for parents to connect with teachers and gain insights into their children’s academic progress. This year, the event was enriched by an exciting Science Exhibition, showcasing the creativity and scientific curiosity of students in Classes 4 and 5. These young learners presented engaging models on topics such as the Digestive System, Simple Machines, Water Cycle, Solar System, Volcanic Eruption, and Layers of the Atmosphere. Parents expressed their admiration for these innovative projects and applauded the students’ efforts, highlighting the school’s commitment to fostering experiential learning.   Part 2: Classes 6 to 8 The Science Exhibition continued to impress with contributions from Classes 6 to 8, where students showcased more complex themes, including Rainwater Harvesting, the Respiratory System, Phases of the Moon, and Types of Farming. Parents were equally enthusiastic, providing positive feedback and recognizing the hard work and enthusiasm displayed by the students. SPIC MACAY’s Cinema Classics Screening

*SPIC MACAY’s Cinema Classics Screening at Gwalior Glory High School* In celebration of Mahatma Gandhi’s 155th birth anniversary, GGHS hosted a special screening of *The Making of the Mahatma* directed by the legendary Shyam Benegal, under SPIC MACAY’s Cinema Classics series. With 650 students from classes VI – IX participating, the film vividly portrayed Gandhi’s transformative years in South Africa, where his ideals of non-violence and truth were born. A highlight of the event was an insightful interaction with Rajit Kapur, who portrayed Mahatma Gandhi in the film. Osheen Sharma (XI) engaged with him in an online session, exploring the challenges and inspirations behind bringing Gandhiji’s iconic journey to life on screen. The screening inspired our students to reflect on the timeless values of perseverance, empathy, and truth, emphasizing how cinema can powerfully convey history’s greatest lessons.
