32nd Convention of the Quality Circle
The 32nd Convention of the Quality Circle Forum of India, Gwalior Chapter, was held on 31st August 2024 in association with the Hindustan Institute of Management and Computer Studies, Mathura, under the theme “Investing in People, Building a Better Future.” Nine Quality Circle teams presented impressive case studies, each earning the Gold Award for their innovative solutions, reflecting their dedication and superior performance. Student teams addressed topics like: Teenagers and Social Media Deteriorating Reading Habits Evaluating Multiple Intelligences Beyond Academics Teachers’ teams tackled issues such as: Coping with Stress Work-Life Balance in Teaching and Challenges in Handling 21st Century Students Winners in various individual competition categories were : Best Poem: Khushi Agarwal Consolation: Meenal Gupta & Monal Dodeja Best Poster: Ms. Monika Arora Consolation: Monal Dodeja & Arya Bansal Best Slogan: Akshita Nagaich & Ojaswi Pal Consolation: Aaradhya Marwah Best Essay: Aaradhya Marwah Consolation: Astha Garg School QC Coordinators Ms.Prafull Nigam and Ms.Jayati Mukherjee were also awarded with Best Coordinator Award. AUMPMUN 7.0
Gwalior Glory High School partook in & showcased a prodigious performance at the AUMPMUN 7.0 securing the overall BEST DELEGATION AWARD among more than 25 schools and colleges including renowned institutions such as the Scindia School, Delhi Public School, G.D. Goenka Public School, Bhartiyam Vidya Niketan, Satyawati College, Amity University Kolkata, Happy Days School Shivpuri and Sanjivani International School Shirdi with more than 400 delegations from all over the country. Amity University Madhya Pradesh hosted the AUMPMUN 7.0 on August 20th-21st, 2024. MUN (Model United Nations) simulates the UN and Indian committees along with the International Press covering journalism and photography. For Half a decade now, Gwalior Glory High School has been gloriously retaining the title of the Best Delegation. The ‘Glory’ team was shined upon and mentored by our MUN co-ordinator Ms. Kiran Kaur, resulting in the array of such enthusiasm in our students in 5 different committees and the International Press. KALEIDOSCOPE 2024: A Brilliant Showcase of Talent and Innovation Gwalior Glory High School hosted its annual Kaleidoscope event on 24th August 2024, celebrating the fusion of technology and art with the theme “Technoverse Festival.” The day began with a high-energy performance by the GGHS rock band, followed by the traditional presentation of tulsi saplings to the judges. Students from various schools showcased their creativity in dance, art, poetry, and speech competitions, all centered around themes like artificial intelligence and technological evolution. The event concluded with the announcement of winners and insightful feedback from the judges. Independence Day Celebration
The 78th Anniversary of Independence Day was observed with great enthusiasm and zeal at Gwalior Glory High School, capturing the essence of nationalism and solidarity. The entire school campus was filled with a spirited atmosphere of unity, freedom, and harmony. The school Director, Mr. Gopi Mandhan, Principal, Dr. Rajeshwari Sawant, and Vice Principal, Ms. Shikha Sharma, led the ceremony, with the national flag being hoisted and the national anthem sung to promote unity and nationalist sentiments. After the flag-raising, Glorians showcased a plethora of cultural events, including inspiring patriotic songs by the young Glorians, mesmerizing dance performances, and last but not least, confident and articulate speeches. The participants and winners of the 10th Quality Youth Initiative Summit held in Mauritius added vibrancy to the ceremony as they shared their wonderful experiences and were awarded for their spectacular contribution. The Principal’s speech was thought-provoking, which emphasized making use of the opportunities to develop confidence, leadership qualities, and the essence of discipline in a student’s life. Additionally, she also made the students read the Indian pledge. Her words instilled optimism and determination in everyone to contribute towards the country’s progress. Overall, the Independence Day celebration was a harmonious blend of solemnity and liveliness that effectively honored the spirit of freedom while motivating all to strive towards a better India. SWAYAM-A Journey Within
Team ‘Swayam’ successfully conducted a counselling session at Gwalior Glory High School on adolescence and gynecological issues among teenage girls, as part of their project “SWAYAM: A Journey Within.” The session featured Dr. Shilpee Ojha, a renowned gynecologist and obstetrician, who addressed the challenges faced by girls during the onset of menstruation. Glorians openly discussed their concerns with Dr. Ojha, benefitting from her expert advice. The session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the Vice Principal, who presented Dr. Ojha with a sapling and memento as tokens of appreciation and remembrance. This initiative marked a significant step in educating and supporting young girls in their journey through adolescence. More Images
Adolescent Counselling Session
Adolescent Counselling Session Gwalior Glory High School organized an ‘Adolescent Counselling Session’ for Class VII on ‘Overcoming Challenges’ under ‘Let’s Connect with Teens Initiative.’ The session was addressed by the Vice-principal, Ms. Shikha Sharma. The esteemed speakers, Dr Praveen Garg, Pediatrician & Director of Garg Clinic and Dr Sandhya Ahuja, MBBS, GRMC Gwalior, shared valuable information with the students about social, emotional, physical and biological changes. They also shared the information about peer pressure, healthy media usage, positive psychology, empowering oneself, obesity and eating disorders. The children actively raised their queries before the experts. Commemorating the event, the Co-ordinator, Ms Bindha Kaul, presented the vote of thanks to all the experts for their guidance on such vital issues. Overall, it was an interesting session. More Images
Cadence – A Transcendental Journey
Gwalior Glory High School had the honour of hosting Cadence – A Transcendental Journey, a literary event dedicated to the timeless works of Sri Rabindranath Tagore. The event commenced with a heartfelt floral tribute to Gurudev by the esteemed Chief Guest- Honorary Flying Officer (Retd.) Sailendra Nath Datta, a decorated veteran of the Indian Air Force and a passionate educator with a love for literature; Special Guest, Dr. Narendra Nath Laha, a distinguished consultant physician, acclaimed writer, and esteemed academic from Gwalior, recognized for his contributions to both medical science and literature and our Director, Ms. Anita Wadhwani. The Vice Principal, Ms. Shikha Sharma, set the tone with a warm Welcome Address, paving the way for an afternoon of soul-stirring recitations. Participants from prestigious schools across Gwalior brought Tagore’s profound poetry and prose to life, creating an atmosphere of deep reflection and inspiration. The event culminated in the presentation of certificates and mementos, celebrating the participants’ dedication and talent. The school extends heartfelt gratitude to everyone who participated and attended, making this journey through Tagore’s legacy an unforgettable experience. More Images
10th International Quality Youth Initiative Summit in Mauritius
10th Quality Youth Initiative Summit: A Triumph for the School In an excellent display of talent and dedication, Gwalior Glory High School has brought immense honour to India by triumphantly winning the prestigious OVERALL CHAMPIONS TROPHY and the Most Disciplined Team Award at the 10th International Quality Youth Initiative Summit in Mauritius. From July 22-27, 2024, the team of seven students (Arya Patel-VIII,Rishima Ambey-X, Unnati Agrawal-X,Teesya Raut-XI, Nachiket Chaudhary-XI, Arnav Rastogi-XI, Pravesh Gangwani-XII) and the Principal, Dr. Rajeshwari Sawant represented the school at the 10th Quality Youth Initiative Summit in Mauritius, organized by the Mauritian Society for Quality Control Circles and the World Council for Total Quality Excellence in Education. The team was warmly greeted and accommodated in a picturesque villa by the sea in Flic en Flac. The competitions began on July 23 at OCEP College, featuring debates, case studies, poster and slogan making, public speaking, and mathematics. The team presented a well-researched case study and an artistic poster on the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. On July 24, the final events were hosted by the World Hindi Secretariat and inaugurated by notable dignitaries including Ms. Kalpana Devi Koonjoo-Shah from the Ministry of Gender Equality, Child Development and Family Welfare, Mr. Ranjan Kumar, the First Secretary (Eco) of the Indian High Commission and Mr. Youdhisteer Munbodh, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Tertiary Education, Science and Technology. Highlights included a Hindi Kavita performance and a presentation by Dr. Rajeshwari Sawant on Quality Health Education and Community Welfare. The evening of July 25 featured a cultural performance at the Indira Gandhi Centre, followed by prize distribution where the school received top honours. The President of Mauritius, HE Shri Prithvirajsing Roopun presided over the awards ceremony briefly. A Career Counseling Session on pursuing CA
A Career Counseling Session on pursuing CA as a career option, was organized in school for the students of classes X, XI &XII. The resource persons for the session were CAs, Ms. Richa Mandelia and Mr. Vaibhav Jain. They guided the students about the opportunities that open up for them after having done this course, in the fields of Management, Business, Entrepreneurship, UPSC, etc. Elaborating further, they talked about ICAI, the statutory body that is recognized for this course, availability of scholarships and practical training along with stipends. The session greatly benefited the students as the information provided, brought more clarity to their minds about taking up this course.
